ROOTED IN FAITH
5000 Farms Inc. was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that faith in action can change lives.
As a Christian non-profit farm organization, we grow food to help support the underprivileged and those who are food-insecure. Inspired by the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000, we work to multiply the resources entrusted to us to help feed those who go hungry in our Atlantic Canadian community.
Our Mission
We work to reduce food insecurity across New Brunswick and the Maritimes by producing large-scale harvests of fresh vegetables. With the help of volunteers, donors, and partners, we transform fields into meals and bring hope to households in need.
Brief History (2015–2026+)
2015–2019
Early growth and local distribution
- 12 varieties of produce
- 4,000 lbs frozen and 2,000 lbs fresh per season
- Served Harvest House Atlantic, Karing Kitchen, Ray of Hope, and other locations year-round
2020–2023
5000 Farms inc. is incorporated and being scaled up
- 2020: First 10 acres prepared; despite a bad drought, produced over 20,000 lbs
- 2021: A further 20 acres developed; produced over 165,000 lbs
2023–2025
Land secured and protein production introduced
- 2023: Additional farm site acquired; total of 45 acres in production
- Entry into producing proteins
- 2024: 252,417 lbs of fresh produce and Meat King Chickens
- 2025:Severe drought, however we still harvested a total of 127,891 lbs fresh produce and meat chickens
2026+
Forward-looking growth and fundraising goal
- Working to raise $300,000 to expand capacity
- Targeting 300,000 lbs of vegetables and protein
